amazing technique to feel better instantly

by Leland on April 12, 2011

Hi.   You are awwwwwsome !

Feel better?

Probably you did….c’mon….admit it!  Deep down, in some small way at least, you felt good about reading those words:  You…are awwwwwsome !

Actually, I just thought it up while actually getting to the subject…anyway……drum roll please…..

If you’re upset something:  Look straight forward ( odds are you’re looking down).  With your mouth closed, make a very small grin.  Think of something pleasant, take a big deep breath in and hold it for a few seconds.  Hold your breath in, keep holding, and fixate on the most relaxing happiest image in your mind as you can make one instantly.   When you are ready to release the air,  slowly exhale all the way out.   Then pause and enjoy the moment.

Repeat this for as long as you like, or need.  This takes less than a minute !  And you can do this, pretty much anytime you want.

I dreamed this up one day when I was reading about NLP (not necessary to explain here, but if you’re curious, google it, eh?).   It was actually from a mixture of things I was reading on relaxation techniques beyond regular massage therapy.

Massage is for Everyone

by Leland on April 12, 2011

Massage is for eveyone. EVERYONE ! I took massage as a career, because I saw the fastest route to helping others in a profound way. Professional or not, all of us are likely to perform massages in our life. I like this notion, because it makes the “professional” therapist more approachable to the public. It is similar to the millions of amateur musicians, who feel connected to professional ones.

The main thing commonality I like to identify with clients is our bodies. Since I know what back pain is, I can relate to the client, and the client feels validated because I understand intimately, as well as objectively.
When you book your massage, you can speak normally, behave normally – a relief in itself! Add the physical benefits of massage to this relief, and you’ll get a sense of how compelling it is to go regularly.
Enjoy your massage!

Our beloved nurses, we ALL know, tend to carry the burden of things in health care.  Ironically, the people who rally against the nurses, also know this.   [...]

massage and sleep relationship

January 29, 2010

cool tidbit:  one hour of massage is the physiologial equivolent of 5 hours of sleep.
Of course, that’s provided the massage is done with a skillful therapist, and the right style.  I read about this years ago in school, which became one of the most interesting factoids to ponder in the massage universe.
Can’t sleep?  Forget pills, go get [...]

A new year!   Well, the year is fresh and full of the unknown.  Massage, is full of history, but stays current in growth and popularity.    True, the economy has hit the business of massage, but the benefits of massage are there for all to enjoy – particulary in hard times.
